Abstract:

The article analyzes the Russian environment of academic research in the field of Economics and the current state of Russian economic science. It also considers the publication activity of Russian scientific educational organizations in the field of economics over the past six years and the results of leading Russian universities in the QS and THE rankings. It shows connections between the already formed conditions in which Russian economists work as well as the results of universities in the field of Economics in these rankings. The authors discuss the need to expand the scientific approach in order to promote Russian science round the world. In addition to this, A. Shastitko and A. Zubina propose discussing and, to some extent, renovating currently used stimulating and promoting methods used by the regulator of the educational system in the field of economics.
